The foundation of any relationship, whether it be with a business associate, couple, client, parent or friend, is trust. Trust is not something that can be built with quick techniques. It is something that comes into being gradually in your communication.   36 

Be transparent.

Do not try to hide things from others. You might think you can pull a fast one on someone else. You can’t. Take responsibility.

When you make a mistake, be quick to clean it up.   40    But it does nothing for your character or the level of trust you are given in the long run. On the contrary, responsibility will win yu trust from others.

G. Defending and making excuses may help you in the short term.
